The use of high technologies and new approaches to the recovery of patients make the effective and evidence-based rehabilitation of patients with the central and peripheral nervous system deasises and disorders possible. The material and technical basіs of the center is made exclusively for diagnostics and rehabilitation (restorative treatment&recovery) of patients with lesions and functional disorders of the nervous system.

The following robotic units, bio-feedback computerized devices and mechanized systems are used:

  1. Balance Trainer (Medica medizintechnik Gmbh, Germany) verticalization unit
  2. Early rehabilitation devices (CPM therapy): BREVA, MAESTRO, PERFORMA (Kinetek, France) and ARTROMOT E2;
  3. Biofeedback mechanotherapy unit Biodex 4 pro (Biodex Medical System,Inc., the USA) integrated with the mobile electric ceiling lifter GH3 (Denmark) with the load capacity of up to 200 kg.
  4. Walk simulator РІО (Meden-Inmed Sp.z o.o., Poland) used for patients with paraplegia or paresis of the lower limbs for their rehabilitation in the vertical position
  5. THERA-Vital (Medica medizintechnik Gmbh, Germany) active&passive rehabilitation device for lower and upper limbs
  6. MiLi system of high-frequency diametry in combination with the system of apparatus dosage traction TRAComputer for carrying out the traction of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine and limbs (Medizin elektronik Luneburg, Germany);
  7. Un-inertial track EN-Mill, which enables to minimize joints load and to achieve visible results in the shortest possible time (Enfran-Nonius, the Netherlands)
  8. The most advanced kinesiotherapy system- REDCORD® (Neurac, Norway), with the integrated dynamic platform and 3-section table TERAPEUTA (Meden-Inmed Sp.z o.o., Poland) with electric drives for the most comfortable rehabilitation exercises
  9. ARMEO SPRING (Hocoma, Switzerland) the biofeedback rehabilitation unit for functional upper limb therapy with the 3D workplace. The use of this technology offers focused, intensive individual exercises with tasks of varying complexity that motivate the patient to achieve the best possible results and significantly reduce the time of recovery.
  10. MOTOmed VIVA2 (Medizintechnik, Germany) simulator for functional therapy of the upper and lower extremities for patients with impaired motor function. This device is used for patients with muscular contracture, paralysis, for people who have suffered a stroke, with spinal injuries. The device allows to improve blood supply, to remove muscle cramps and prevent muscle atrophy.
  11. Bars for the treatment and rehabilitation of children with serious diseases of the musculo-sceletal system, requiring the restoration of walking skills and movement of the lower extremities.
  12. LYMPHA PRESS OPTIMAL (Model 1201 - EP/ ED) system for calibrated, gradient, sequential compression therapy (lymphatic drainage)
  13. 3-section innovative MULTICARE LINET BED ( LINET, the Czech Republic) multifunctional bed with a weighing system for care for bed-ridden patients - with the function of lateral therapy (reduces the risk of respiratory infections), improving the safety and comfort of the patient, the prevention and healing of bedsores.
  14. EasyStand Glider active stander is an active vertical standing device, used to restore functions of upper and lower extremities, to strengthen muscles and improve the motion coordination at the same time. The walking simulation on this device is quite unique.
  15. MOTOmed letto 2 leg/arm significantly increases the efficiency of rehabilitation sessions due to the regular exercises in a cycle mode. The use of this device ensures physiotherapeutic support for patients, the prevention of pressure sores, contractures and thrombosis, maintains mobility and normalizes muscles tone.
  16. Sony PlayStation 4 Pro VR (virtual reality system) is used to increase the rehabilitation potential, to stimulate brain motor function, to improve cognitive functions and psycho-emotional status of the patient.
  17. Rehab/Theta/Physio/Wireless/Professional – Chattanooga navigational electrostimulation device. It differs from other devices by the method of navigational search of a motor point through electrostimulation and application of electrodes on the most muscular responsive points.
  18. BTL 5000 physiotherapeutic complex with touch display- a single channel interferential electrotherapy with an extended combined set of electrotherapy, ultrasound, laser, magnetic therapy.
  19. Bure XL walkers (Gate, Sweden)- the walkers with soft elbow props for rehabilitation of patients inactive for a long period of time and who start walking after an injury or a long illness.The height of props is adjusted by the electric drive, that considerably facilitates verticalization of the patient in a range of settings.
  20. Storz medical MasterPuls MP200 extracorporeal shock wave therapy device. The use of the shock wave improves mobility of joints and ligaments, local blood circulation, permeability of cellular membranes, metabolism and restoration of ion cells exchange. This ensures an intensive excretion of the end -products of metabolism, stimulation of tissue regeneration, an anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effect.
  21. Vela artificial lung ventilator is an easy-to-use, autonomous, servomotor-controlled and programmable ventilator machine for adult & child. It has dynamic range of respiratory gas supply. User-friendly interface. An accurate and precise turbine gas supply with srvomotor exhalation and inhalation ensures perfect performance. The Vela can be used as a standard lung ventilator or as a non-invasive positive pressure unit (NPPV)
  22. G-EO SYSTEM™ (REHA Technology, Switzerland) robotic-assisted gait rehabilitation device with biofeedback is used for mobility rehabilitation of patients after traumas, stroke, etc. The G-EO simulates walking on a horizontal surface and climbing stairs. The robotic system simulates natural gait, using data, obtained through “ capturing motion” and thus allows patients to restore the ability of walking faster, than using conventional therapy. The patient recovers faster, using realistic simulation of walking, and gets back to normal life. The active mode allows the patient to initiate the gait simulation, overcoming the initial threshold of resistance. This mode encourages active motion during the therapy session to maximize the therapeutic outcome. A physician programs a combination of exercises most efficient for each patient.
  23. Tech Med 3D Body Scanner (TechMed3D, Canada) is used for 3D medical scanning of the body parts in gravely ill patients for manufacturing of custom-made functional orthosis. Scanned 3D models (parts of the limbs) are converted in adaptive formats for further engineering & modelling through an automatic transfer of linear and angular dimensions into ball structures.

*** These systems operate in two main modes: diagnostic and therapeutic.

In addition to specific neurofunctional diagnostics, neuroelektrophysiology of the high technological level, is used at Nodus.

The center has a unique shielded cabin designed to accurately study the bioelectric properties of the brain using the 24-channel computerized electroencephalograph BRAINTEST (DX-system) associated with SPIROCOM's external breathing system and professional video monitors.

The technique used by our specialists in diagnosing the level of bioelectric activity of the brain involves recording signals in a state of physiological sleep, vivacity, medical sleep, so a shielded cabin has a special functional armchair that is transformed into a functional bed that allows to make a recording of an electroencephalogram to any patient during lengthy periods of time.

The use of stationary and mobile computer electroencephalography with the support of the EDF + protocol of data exchange and signal processing resource with the help of the software complex NEURO RESEARCHER® Innovation Suite (Switzerland-Ukraine) is the innovative device used in the diagnosis of bioelectric activity of the brain of our patients.

It consists of the six following innovative tools :

  1. NeuroResearcher® - Basic®;
  2. NeuroResearcher® - Spectra®;
  3. NeuroResearcher® - Multi-Dimensional Linear Analysis®;
  4. NeuroResearcher® - Chaos® (Multi-Dimensional Non-Linear Analysis®);
  5. NeuroResearcher® - Basic® + Cardio-Tension-Test® Basic®;
  6. Cardio – Tension-Test - Chaos®.

The last two modules are used by our center's specialists for the analysis of EEG and cardiac rhythm variability in patients with coma and apalic syndrome.

The four following highly technological units are applied in an associated and separate modes are used in the Neuroelectrophysiology room. The precise digital neuromyograph of the latest generation NEUROSOFT (Russia), NEURON-SPECTRUM-4 NEUROSOFT (Russia), the most advanced device for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) NEURO-MS / D Neurosoft (Russia) and the diagnostic complex for EEG / PSG registration. "NEURON-SPECTRUM-SM" with the program of daily monitoring "Neurosoft" (Russia).

The Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive painless technique that is now widely used to stimulate the central nervous system. Stimulation is aimed at changing of the functional state of the targeted structures.

A notable feature of the Neuro-MS / D apparatus (Neurosoft Russia) is the possibility of transcranial stimulation not only with diagnostic, but also for therapeutic purposes. The integrated cooling unit allows for a long-term medical treatment (including TMS with high frequency and intensity) without overheating of the inductor and damage to the patient.

TMS is used for complex apparatus rehabilitation of patients of all ages with severe diseases and disorders of the nervous system, especially those with manifested combined mental and motor disorders.

The Kinesiotherapy room is additionally equipped with a computerized electromyograph, the M-TEST NEURO (EMG), integrated with the Biodex unit.

In the Treatment room there are instruments and equipment for outpatient surgical manipulations. It is also equipped with MASTER-PULS MP 200 (Storz-Medical Switzerland) extracorporeal shock wave therapy device with RSV and V-ACTOR applicators and ESKULAP (Russia) electrostimulation and electrotherapy device.

The transcranial ultrasonography and doppler movements of the vessels of the head, neck, and extremities are carried out, so the corresponding room is equipped with the most advanced ultrasound diagnostic apparatus NEMIO XG (Toshiba, Medical Syst., Japan).

There are two 24 hour - care inpatient facilities with the Nurse on Duty at the Patients Monitoring Unit and a social worker.

One facility is located in the Traumatic department of the Brovary Central regional hospital ( 14, Shevchenka Str. Brovary) , and the other – the NODUS ERGO CENTRE (13-a, Heroyv Nebesnoy Sotni, Brovary).

There are twelve beds available.

The wards are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay of patients. Mobile lifters and mobile devices of kinesiotherapy are placed at the bedside.

We provide patients with bed linen and sanitation & hygiene items.

We provide meals for our patients. Should a patient prefer to eat a ready made meal, we provide facilities for the heating of food, in strict compliance with the requirements set by the physician in charge, dietary regime and food restrictions.

Depending on the type of care required, we have TWO hospitalization options:

  1. Hospitalization of a minor patient with one relative or other person, who will provide daily care of the patient during the entire period of treatment;
  2. Hospitalization of a patient only – a nurse on duty will be in charge of daily routine care of the patient

According to the Individual Rehabilitation Program (IRP), the patient, accompanied by medical staff, is transported by special vehicle for rehabilitation sessions at different Nodus locations. Afterwards the patient, accompanied by medical staff, returns to the ward, under the supervision of a medical nurse on duty and a social worker.

We provide our own appropriate vehicles for the transportation of the patients.

The NODUS’ vehicles fleet offers:

  1. "B" Class ambulance car (MERCEDES SPRINTER) is equipped with the mobile neuro-diagnostic equipment.
  2. "B" Class ambulance car (MERCEDES SPRINTER), equipped with a passenger electro-hydraulic lifts (manufactured in The Netherlands) for patients in wheelchairs of various modifications and weights. The car is suitable and equipped with the necessary equipment for long-distance travel, has an automatic device to place a patient of any weight in a comfortable armchair in the car.
  3. "B" Class ambulance car (MERCEDES SPRINTER), equipped with a passenger electro-hydraulic lifts (manufactured in The Netherlands) for patients in wheelchairs. The car is designed and equipped for transportation of 1, 2 or 3 patients at the same time.
  4. "A" Class sanitary car (DIMLER CHRYSLER VITO), equipped with a mobile passenger electric - hydraulic lift (manufactured in The Netherlands) for patients in wheelchairs; the car is suitable for the hospital-to-hospital transportation of patients, and short-distance travel.
